Description
The Elgi (Russian: Эльги; Yakut: Эльгэ) is a river in Yakutia in Russia, a left tributary of the Indigirka. The Elgi Plateau is named after the Elgi River. The river's length is 394 km (245 mi) and its drainage basin 68,200 square kilometres (26,300 sq mi).Teryut village is located close to the confluence of the Elgi and the Indigirka. Formerly there was a settlement called Elginsky on the left bank of the Elgi, about 40 kilometres (25 mi) upstream from the confluence. It belonged to the Oymyakon District and was abolished in 2007.
